Happy Gas To Soothe Your Nerves

Does going to the dentist make you anxious and worried? You’re not alone. Dental fear affects about 1 in 6 Australians. We sympathise and understand that visiting the dentist and getting major procedures done is not everyone’s cup of tea. At Roseville Dental Practice, we aim to accommodate your needs to ensure your experience is a positive one. We encourage all our patients take small regular breaks during the appointment (where possible). For patients that are feeling nervous, we provide nitrous oxide sedation therapy, which is commonly known as “happy gas.” This form of sedation therapy is one of the most common methods to help anxious patients experience a safe and relaxing appointment. Nitrous oxide (N20) is a colourless, odourless and tasteless gas that has a sedative and analgesic effect. The level of sedation is determined by you and ranges from mild to moderate sedation. With mild sedation, you will be aware of your surroundings and comfortable enough to be at ease. With a deeper level of sedation, you will be less aware of your surroundings.
